On the morning of April 9, 2025, the Center for Service Development and Exploitation of Science and Technology Infrastructure (CSID), the Office of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), in coordination with the Hoi Sang Che Viet Nam (Vietnam Invention Association) and the Van Phong Cuc SHTT tai TP.HCM (Intellectual Property Office Branch in Ho Chi Minh City), organized the Launching Ceremony for the “Consultation Month on Intellectual Property, Innovation, and Startups for Sustainable Development.”
The program aims to celebrate World Intellectual Property Day (April 26) and Viet Nam Science and Technology Day (May 18), taking place from April to June 2025.
In 2025, WIPO announced the theme for World Intellectual Property Day as “Intellectual Property and Music: Feel the beat of IP.” World Intellectual Property Day 2025 is an opportunity to honor the contributions of creators, inventors, and entrepreneurs who have pushed the boundaries of creativity and innovation to create musical works that connect the public, evoke emotions, guide change, and inspire a more innovative future.

Mr. Huynh Van Tung – Director of CSID Center shared at the ceremony: The application of Science and Technology (S&T) and Intellectual Property Management is a crucial factor in enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises in the international market. Vietnamese companies can leverage technology to create unique products and services, thereby expanding and penetrating international markets. The application of S&T in the era of the 4.0 revolution not only facilitates sustainable economic development but also creates growth and development opportunities for both businesses and the nation. Job creation, strengthening production capacity, and improving quality of life are important benefits brought by S&T.

Sharing at the launch event, Dr. Bui Van Quyen – President of the Hoi Sang Che Viet Nam, stated that the program will be an opportunity for individuals, businesses, startups, inventors, universities, research institutes… to better understand the field of patents and intellectual property in Viet Nam. Inventions must be applied to serve production and life; bringing inventions into practical application requires implementing multiple solutions synchronously. Furthermore, it involves building innovative startup ecosystems within universities, encouraging and supporting research institutes and universities to establish enterprises to exploit intellectual property rights, shortening the process of applying research 1 results into production and business.
Specifically, the program “Consultation Month on Patents, Intellectual Property, and Innovation for Sustainable Development for Our Common Future” will take place weekly from Monday to Friday, at the Center for Service Development and Exploitation of Science and Technology Infrastructure (No. 31 Han Thuyen, Quan 1, TP. Ho Chi Minh; 1196 Duong 3 Thang 2, Phuong 8, Quan 11, TP. Ho Chi Minh).
This is the second year the Launching Ceremony has been marked as an important step in raising awareness and supporting the community regarding intellectual property, innovation, and startups.
